3, actually is very reminiscent of the Mega Man series. The stage selection, while setup just like the overworld of Super Mario Bros. The tight controls allow players to traverse through stages across numerous jumps without too much problem, thankfully with a total lack of floaty physics. One of the most crucial elements of any platformer is control and Shovel Knight is the very definition of expert handling. Jumping over spikes is not possible this way, but the ability to use it as a weapon on the ground sets it apart from similar styles. This feels very similar to that of Scrooge McDuck in Ducktales, with the shovel replacing the pogo stick. Simple short range attacks are possible, but most useful is the Shovel Drop ability that allows the use of the shovel to bounce on enemies and obstacles. That applies to every console version.Players will be in control of the title character Shovel Knight, who naturally has a shovel that is multipurpose. Wii U version has the original box art, but it automatically updates to Treasure Trove. Some console releases automatically got every DLC for free. Obviously not a complaint- amazing deal for PS4 but seems like a bad deal seeing as you can buy the cheap regular SK and get everything or you can buy TT for loads more and not get any benefit in doing so.

I assume if you buy the regular Shovel Knight (not TT) on Steam, it won't give you all the DLC like the PS4 version just did. It's very odd because I purchased it for PS4 second-hand and got all this DLC for £10 (GBP). I'm just not sure how you got it just a week ago.

I see TT listed as $40 on PSN with no alternate versions available which seems to be the same as the PC Steam version.Īs far as I knew, they removed all "original" versions of Shovel Knight from PSN.the version you describe above looks like the type we got years ago.where we paid around $15 for it and got all the DLC for free.
